Has your Toolbar PageRank dropped to 0?
January 11th, 2007
As earlier mentioned, Google refreshes spawn hundreds of threads in SEO forums and this time is no different. I have read numerous threads over the last few days with people having their websites bouncing up and down the SERPs and the very common complaint that “my PageRank has dropped from x to 0 [insert exclamation marks here]”.
So has your PageRank dropped to zero? Here’s the key: Don’t worry! Please, really don’t worry! Don’t forget - your actual PageRank has not dropped to zero, the Toolbar PageRank (which isn’t technically your actual PageRank) is just updating and it is quite normal for it to bounce up and down. Give it a week or so and you’ll find everything will get back to normal. You’re not alone and there is nothing you can do to “fix” it, the goal posts are being moved and the lines redrawn, so relax and eat your half time oranges ![]()
It’s NOT a PageRank Update!

Do not worry about the toolbar. It’ll take a few days for all of the data centers to be updated - until then expect wide fluctation in the displayed PageRank value.
